Porcelain powder and metal wire on an acrylic sheet.

18" X 24"
Cloisonné is an ancient technique from Mesopotamia using metal wire and a mineral glass mixture to decorate metal. Once the design is laid out the piece is usually baked or fired to form a hard enamel. Modern cloisonné uses porcelain enamel powder.
I make nontraditional cloisonné pieces that are too large to be fired and are sealed with a varnish.
